Senior Platform Engineer (Army)

Role Overview

Senior Platform Engineer responsible for building and operating persistent, always-on environments and integration layers across the UDS platform. You will collaborate with product, UX, and engineering to ensure systems can be continuously exercised, validated, and experienced in real-world conditions.

Key Missions

• Design and operate always-on product environments for customer demos, internal use, and stakeholder access.
• Build feature branch and preview environments to support UX and rapid feedback loops.
• Integrate core system components across Fleet Management, Edge Management, OS, and related services.

Responsibilities

• Act as the integrator of the product portfolio, advocating for a delightful customer product experience.
• Work across system boundaries (application, infrastructure, networking) to solve platform and integration challenges.
• Operate and improve distributed, multi-service integrations.

Requirements

• Experience integrating distributed systems across multiple services.
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments with strong problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on cloud experience, specifically Azure.
• Linux/Unix proficiency.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD and deployment pipelines.
• Experience with Helm, GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi).
• Strong platform engineering / DevOps / infrastructure-focused software engineering background.
• Experience building and operating shared or multi-tenant environments.
• Deep familiarity with Kubernetes and container-based systems.
• US citizenship and eligibility to obtain a clearance (including Active Secret clearance).

Nice to Have

• Experience with Zarf or UDS.
• Familiarity with Army, Army Software Factory, or similar DoD software organizations.
• System image/architecture and deployment experience.
