Senior Platform Engineer

Role Overview

Join Abridge as a Senior Platform Engineer to scale cloud infrastructure and improve developer experience. You’ll work on a centralized platform team, with primary focus on infrastructure and some application software responsibilities.

Key Missions

• Design, build, and scale cloud infrastructure, covering areas such as:
  • Networking and IAM
  • Kubernetes and related platform components
  • Databases, streaming/pub-sub platforms, storage, and distribution
• Implement fast, scalable application testing pipelines, including:
  • End-to-end UI tests
  • Hyperscale load tests
• Bridge local development and production to make workflows seamless, improving engineering velocity and security.

Responsibilities / Profile

• Securely implement services on Google Cloud Platform using Infrastructure as Code, including:
  • GCP Projects, VPC Networks
  • GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine)
  • IAM roles, groups, and policies
• Have experience with backend languages (e.g., Python, Go, Node.js, Rust)
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for both:
  • Infrastructure-as-code deployments
  • Application code deployments
  • Examples mentioned: Terragrunt, Atlas, ArgoCD, Octopus Deploy, Travis CI
• Operate and “care+feed” Kubernetes clusters, including:
  • Version upgrades
  • Service mesh management
  • Maintaining Helm charts for application deployments
• Manage observability and monitoring at scale (metrics, logs, traces), including platforms such as:
  • Grafana, Datadog, Honeycomb
• Stay current on best practices and enjoy learning new tools
• Experience building and scaling on Kubernetes, including technologies such as:
  • ArgoCD, Argo Rollouts, Istio

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• 3+ years of infrastructure-as-code experience in a cloud-first organization

• Hands-on mindset in a fast-moving startup environment; willing to pitch in wherever needed
