Role Overview

Senior People Business Partner (HR)

You will serve as a people advisor and strategic partner to leaders and managers, supporting global talent management and organizational development. The role emphasizes aligning HR practices with Wikimedia’s values and culture while coaching managers through complex people issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing guidance, coaching, and employee relations support for assigned client groups
• Support and run talent reviews, organization design, and performance management
• Act as a thought partner to managers and leaders by presenting solutions that are heard, understood, and adopted
• Influence senior management decisions with relevant people insights
• Communicate clearly and effectively across regions and cultures, including upward escalation as needed
• Improve relationships, morale, productivity, and retention by mediating complex issues with confidentiality, active listening, and compassion
• Liaise with internal legal counsel to reduce legal risks and ensure compliance
• Facilitate counseling and corrective actions for performance-related matters
• Lead organizational development and design initiatives to improve engagement, retention, leadership development, org culture, and productivity
• Conduct talent reviews to recommend staffing levels, skills, and structure, including succession planning
• Coach managers on day-to-day people matters such as career development and disciplinary actions
• Partner with other HR Business Partners and People teams (e.g., Recruiting, People Growth & Belonging, Learning & Development, Compensation, Operations) to deliver People department strategic initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, and 5+ years of HR experience (or equivalent)
• 5+ years of experience in employee relations, HR, or labor relations
