Role overview

As a Senior Payroll / Lohn- und Gehaltsbuchhalter (m/w/d), you are a central member of the Payroll team. Together with the Lead Payroll (Laura), you manage payroll processing for Arsipa Holding and 20+ subsidiaries.

Responsibilities

Payroll & payroll accounting

• Independently run monthly payroll for assigned entities within the Arsipa group using DATEV Lohn & Gehalt
• Ensure payroll is on time, correct, and legally compliant for the Holding and all relevant subsidiaries
• Handle payroll-relevant questions related to wage tax (lohnsteuer), social security, and payroll accounting
• Prepare certificates, filings/registrations (Meldungen), and other payroll-related reports and documents

Payroll operations & collaboration

• Be the point of contact for employees, managers, and People Operations colleagues on payroll topics
• Coordinate and communicate with health insurers (Krankenkassen), social security institutions, authorities, and other external bodies
• Collaborate closely with the Payroll and People teams on group-wide payroll topics

Process improvement, digitization & harmonization

• Contribute to the continuous development and harmonization of payroll processes across the group
• Identify and implement opportunities to optimize existing payroll workflows
• Support digitization projects and the further development of the payroll system landscape using DATEV Lohn & Gehalt and Personio
• Help build scalable payroll structures in a rapidly growing organization

Requirements

• Multi-year experience in independent payroll processing
• Strong knowledge of wage tax, social security, and labor law
• Practical experience with DATEV Lohn & Gehalt and confident handling of digital payroll processes
• Completed commercial training (with an ideal further qualification in payroll/payroll accounting such as Personalfachkaufleute or similar)
• Structured, careful, and quality-focused work style with high attention to detail
• Strong service orientation and enjoyment of cross-functional collaboration
• Fluent German communication

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Personio (or comparable HR systems)
• Experience with harmonizing, standardizing, or digitizing payroll processes
