About the role

Role overview

Join Skylight as a Senior or Staff Growth Engineer and be a founding member of the new Growth Pod. You’ll build and iterate on experiments to improve subscription attach rates, retention, and other growth metrics across Skylight’s e-commerce and app surfaces.

Responsibilities

Build, launch, and iterate on growth experiments across:
- Shopify + Hydrogen e-commerce site
- React Native mobile and web app (later phase)
Implement new UI features and user flows with a strong focus on user experience and quality.
Partner closely with Product Managers, Design, and cross-functional stakeholders to move quickly from hypothesis → live test.
Contribute to a comprehensive test suite to maintain stability while shipping fast.
Apply experimentation rigor by designing tests carefully, interpreting results honestly, and iterating based on outcomes.

Requirements

Deep frontend engineering expertise with TypeScript and React (5+ years).
Production experience with React Native and/or a modern frontend e-commerce stack.
Strong understanding of frontend architecture and design patterns, with high standards for code quality and UX.
Excellent cross-functional communication; comfortable operating with autonomy on a small team.
Genuine interest in growth engineering and in connecting engineering work to business outcomes.
Comfort with A/B testing concepts and statistical rigor.

Nice-to-haves

Experience with Shopify, especially Hydrogen.
