About the role

Role Overview

As a Senior Operations Manager at Housecall Pro, you will own the strategy and operating model for small-business financial service offerings—bookkeeping, payroll, and tax. You’ll lead a team and help define a scalable, technology-enabled approach to delivering these services.

Responsibilities

Set the strategic roadmap for bookkeeping, payroll, and tax solutions to anticipate customer needs and market shifts.
Reimagine financial service delivery by identifying opportunities for automation, AI, and specialized tooling to improve delivery quality.
Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing operations team of financial service professionals.
Drive organizational adaptability as product capabilities evolve.
Partner cross-functionally to align service workflows with broader product and platform roadmaps.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
Experience managing 25+ team members, including remote operational structures; proven ability to scale and transform service capabilities.
Proven ability to improve team efficiency and output quality using AI tools and automation.
8+ years leading operations (ideally in a scaling service-division environment) focused on bookkeeping/payroll/tax or unified small-business financial solutions.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills to align complex service workflows with product/platform roadmaps.
Experience establishing clear strategy in structural ambiguity (not relying on legacy procedures).
Broad understanding of accounting principles, payroll compliance, and commercial tax workflows to design sound operating processes.
Hands-on experience deploying automation or financial orchestration tools in an operational service context.
Analytical skills focused on cross-functional efficiency and data integrity.

Nice-to-haves

CPA, EA, or similar professional financial certification.
Industry familiarity with home services professionals/contractors or similar segments.
