Senior Node.js Developer

Role overview

Join Flosum as a Senior Node.js Developer working full-time and fully remotely. You’ll shape architecture and deliver production backend code relied on by enterprise customers every day, collaborating closely with engineering leadership, product managers, and the CEO.

Key missions

• Conceive, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs for enterprise-grade SaaS applications
• Own major parts of the architecture, making technical decisions with real business impact
• Collaborate cross-functionally (engineering leadership, product managers, CEO) to align technical execution with business goals

Responsibilities / expectations

• Deliver code with high quality, reliability, and longevity (enterprise uptime and data integrity)
• Understand and communicate critical Node.js runtime behaviors (asynchrony, event loops, streams, backpressure)
• Write secure, well-designed REST APIs and handle auth patterns appropriately
• Build systems that are maintainable in regulated industries

Requirements

• Git workflows, code review practices
• Automated testing: unit, integration, end-to-end
• CI/CD pipelines
• Expert Node.js async understanding: event loop, streams, runtime behavior; ability to explain backpressure, setImmediate vs process.nextTick, and risks of unhandled promise rejections
• TypeScript production experience (typed code expectations)
• RESTful API design + security: OAuth 2.0, JWT, and enterprise API security best practices
• 5+ years of professional Node.js development in production systems (not tutorials or side projects)
• Strong database experience with SQL and NoSQL: data modeling, query optimization, performance implications at scale
• Containerization and infrastructure knowledge: Docker, AWS/GCP/Azure, and infrastructure-as-code principles
• Comfortable working under pressure; proactive communicator and strong craftsperson mindset

Nice-to-haves / additional signals

• Vue.js experience, especially Vue 3 Composition API and state management
• Experience building/contributing to Salesforce ISV (AppExchange) products
• Familiarity with DevOps/DevSecOps toolchains and practices in the Salesforce ecosystem
• B2B SaaS experience serving enterprise customers with compliance needs: SOC 2, HIPAA, FedRAMP, GDPR
• Salesforce development experience: Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, or Salesforce API integrations
