Senior Node.js Backend Developer

Role Overview

Senior Node.js Backend Developer for a partner company in the United States. You’ll join a remote-first, high-performing engineering environment building secure, scalable, real-time backend systems that power global digital finance services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services for high-traffic, mission-critical applications using Node.js and JavaScript
• Develop new products, features, and platform enhancements using agile delivery
• Optimize scalability, responsiveness, and reliability as the user base grows
• Build and maintain robust, high-performance, low-latency, high-availability APIs
• Integrate external systems including blockchain networks, payment layers, and third-party services
• Apply secure development practices across services, processes, and infrastructure
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to deliver seamless solutions
• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot issues, and improve platform stability continuously

Requirements

• Strong professional experience with Node.js and JavaScript in backend development
• Experience working on complex platforms and/or distributed systems at scale
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and event-driven systems
• Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases: MySQL and MongoDB
• Knowledge of caching, message queues, and background job processing tools such as Redis
• Strong security knowledge: secure APIs and data protection principles
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt in a fast-changing environment
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting

Nice to Haves

• Experience with blockchain integrations (highly valued)
• Familiarity with Ruby, Rust, or C++
