Senior Narrative Designer

Role Overview

Disney Digital Entertainment is seeking a Senior Narrative Designer to build story-driven content for multiple interactive Disney experiences. You’ll work with a seasoned development team to create cohesive, high-quality narrative experiences across Disney’s major IPs.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on creation of narrative content for multiple interactive games and experiences
• Implement narrative using Unreal Engine, UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite), and Verse in both development and live service environments
• Write and develop dialogue, scenarios, quests/objectives, and memorable characters
• Support multidisciplinary teams from concept through release to integrate narrative with gameplay
• Write, update, and maintain detailed narrative design documentation
• Provide guidance and mentorship to other Narrative Designers

Requirements

• 5+ years of game development experience with at least one shipped title in a senior role
• Experience implementing narrative content with industry-standard tools (e.g., Unity, Unreal)
• Strong interactive storytelling skills and deep understanding of interactive narrative design
• Excellent writing skills for characters, storylines, and engaging dialogue
• Knowledge of game design principles and how narrative integrates with gameplay mechanics
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and reach consensus
• Passion for video games and understanding of genres and player expectations
• Strong appreciation for Disney IP (characters/lore, franchise aesthetics, etc.)
• Bachelor’s degree in English/creative writing or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Writing samples may include dialogue, barks, quest objectives, narrative flow diagrams, short fiction, and story outlines
