Senior Mobile Engineer (Matcha)

Role Overview

Join Matcha (0x) as a Senior Mobile Engineer to help build and ship a new React Native app for iOS and Android. This is a foundational role centered on architecture, performance, and product experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a robust application architecture.
• Manage application state and supporting infrastructure.
• Build and ship high-performance mobile UX.
• Write clean, modern code in TypeScript with React Native.
• Collaborate closely with design and product to prototype, iterate, and deliver features quickly.
• Ensure code quality with linting and test coverage.

Requirements

• Strong love for React Native and building smooth user interfaces.
• Ability to attend two in-person team meet-ups per year anywhere in the world.
• 5+ years of mobile engineering experience with deep fluency in React Native and TypeScript.
• Proven experience shipping complex mobile apps (ideally from a blank repo through App Store/Play Store).
• Strong collaboration and communication skills; calm under pressure and receptive to feedback.
• Low-ego, ownership-driven mindset.

Nice to Have

• Prior native iOS/Android development (Objective-C/Swift, Java/Kotlin).
• Understanding of native modules and when to use them for crypto or performance-critical work.
• Contributions to open source React Native or Web3 libraries.
• Familiarity with mobile analytics pipelines and A/B testing.
• Knowledge of Web3 connectivity, signing flows, key management, and transaction UX (e.g., WalletConnect, EIP-155).
• Experience with modern RN patterns and libraries: custom hooks, Zustand/Recoil, Reanimated, FlatList, memoization, and performance profiling.
• Strong debugging and comfort profiling on real devices (Android + iOS).
• Mobile security and key management best practices.
• Experience with crypto wallet/DeFi mobile products.
• Familiarity with mobile CI/CD, incremental rollouts, and feature flagging.
