Senior MLOps Engineer

Role Overview

Senior MLOps Engineer on the Data Engineering & Analytics team at Oura. You will lead the design and evolution of the platforms, workflows, and governance practices that enable machine learning teams to build, train, deploy, and operate reliable ML systems at scale.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead MLOps platform and ML enablement across Oura’s ML workflows and operational foundations
• Unify workflows and tooling for reliable training, orchestration, and deployment
• Partner with data scientists and engineers to improve the end-to-end ML lifecycle (experimentation → training → deployment → governance)
• Define and evolve model governance: reproducibility, lineage, access controls, and operational standards
• Standardize ML tooling/workflows, including experiment tracking and model packaging/promotion using MLflow (or similar)
• Onboard new use cases across business domains and prioritize platform improvements
• Identify and resolve reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency issues in cloud-based ML infrastructure
• Drive standards, automation, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and documentation to improve consistency across DS teams

• Improve infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and observability for ML workflows
• Contribute to workflow orchestration and platform integrations for training and batch inference at scale
• Align ML systems with broader data platform and governance practices
• Shape best practices for building, shipping, and maintaining production ML systems

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in MLOps, machine learning engineering, platform engineering, data engineering, or closely related work
• Hands-on experience running production workloads in AWS and strong understanding of cloud infrastructure
• Strong understanding of the ML lifecycle, including training workflows, deployment patterns, monitoring, and ongoing model maintenance
• Familiarity with experimentation and MLOps tooling such as MLflow
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD
