Senior ML & AI Engineer

Role overview

Join Beatport as a Senior ML & AI Engineer within a top-tier data team. You will build scalable ML/AI models that power product features linking artists and DJs through improved recommendations, search, and audio modeling.

Key missions

• Develop and implement ML/AI solutions to improve the customer experience.
• Act as a domain expert for the latest GCP ML/AI tools, prototyping and advocating new tooling.
• Own the end-to-end development cycle of ML/AI pipelines, ensuring models are served with low latency and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Transform data into valuable product features.
• Collaborate closely with the Lead Data Scientist to deliver ML-powered capabilities.
• Build and operationalize pipelines for recommendations/personalization, search optimization, and audio modeling.

Requirements

• 4–5+ years of direct experience as an ML/AI-focused engineer (with some data science experience considered advantageous).
• 1+ year in a senior capacity preferred.
• Strong CI/CD discipline for ML (e.g., GitHub Actions or GitLab CI).
• Infrastructure as Code for automating rollouts (e.g., Terraform).
• Expert proficiency with GCP ML/AI tooling and the broader GCP data ecosystem.
• Expert SQL development (Google dialects advantageous).
• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Expert proficiency in Python and core ML/AI libraries such as PyTorch, XGBoost, and TensorFlow.
• Experience with an API web framework such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Demonstrated experience with GCP ML/AI services including Vertex AI, BigQuery & BigQuery ML, and Gemini & Vector Search.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with experimentation and A/B testing frameworks.
• Experience with vector databases and semantic search/retrieval pipelines.
• Experience with dbt (data build tool).
• Music industry knowledge and/or interest in DJ culture.
• Domain knowledge in digital signal processing (DSP) and/or audio fingerprinting.
