Senior/Mid Frontend Engineer (React)

Role overview

Join Sensor Tower as a Senior/Mid Frontend Engineer (React). You will own major frontend technical components, define how features are built, and help shape the technical direction of the product.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver complex, scalable frontend systems that stay simple and effective.
• Lead technical decisions for medium-to-large scoped features, ensuring delivery of customer value.
• Mentor engineers (junior and mid) via code reviews, pair programming, and quality-first habits.
• Advocate for best practices in React, TypeScript, and web performance optimization.
• Remove unnecessary complexity from the codebase and prioritize long-term maintainability.

Requirements

• Strong modern JavaScript/TypeScript and deep specialization in React.
• Ability to write robust unit and integration tests using Jest and Cypress/Playwright.
• Product Owner mindset: understand the “why” behind features and solve real user problems.
• Comfort pushing back on requirements and proposing alternatives that improve business outcomes and user experience.
• Deep understanding of web performance, browser internals, and optimization for data-heavy applications.
• Proven experience architecting complex state management.
• Experience elevating peers: teaching patterns and best practices, not just reviewing code.

Nice to haves

• Stack familiarity with TanStack Query and Zustand (or equivalent state/data management principles).
• Experience with data visualization and analytics (large datasets, heavy DOM manipulation).
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails and NoSQL/columnar databases, including MongoDB and ClickHouse.
