About the role
Role Overview
Senior Manual Software QA Engineer (Full-time, remote within the U.S.). You will perform manual QA testing to validate that software meets business requirements, design, and acceptance criteria, while partnering across the SDLC with business and development teams.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with development teams and project managers to understand requirements, design documents, crosswalks, and acceptance criteria; provide quality-focused feedback.
- Create and execute detailed test plans and test cases, including test data preparation.
- Conduct testing systematically and according to department guidelines.
- Perform manual functional testing (including positive/negative scenarios) for changes and enhancements.
- Perform manual regression testing for core functionality across Genex applications.
- Perform manual system integration testing, validating upstream/downstream integrations with dependencies.
- Identify, document, and report defects; work with developers on re-testing bug fixes.
- Track progress of project/change/release tasks and provide QA updates/status.
- Coordinate with offshore manual and automation QA teams.
- Be available for off-hours work when required.
Requirements
- 5+ years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combinations per posting).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to understand project requirements.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies/best practices, including data mapping and crosswalks.
- Experience with Agile.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, Azure DevOps Services, APIs, and integration-related formats such as EDIs.
- Experience working with tools such as Teams, Slack, and Excel.
- Working knowledge of SDLC.
- Ability to produce QA documentation: Test Strategy, Test Plans, QA Assessments, Test Scenarios, and defect reporting/tracking.
- Ability to provide estimates and meet committed delivery dates.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Experience across complex application systems and multiple Genex application areas (implied by regression and integration responsibilities).
