Senior Manager, Technical Program Management (Guest & Host Technology)

Role Overview

Senior Manager, Technical Program Management (Guest & Host Technology) at Airbnb. You will partner with Airbnb’s Guest & Host Engineering and Data Science organizations to deliver high-quality guest and host experiences through cross-functional programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Technical Program Managers (TPMs): build a high-performance culture, provide coaching/feedback, and support career growth.
• Increase team impact by favoring automation and AI to reduce manual work and improve execution efficiency.
• Drive process improvements across the program lifecycle to improve the quality and tracking of engineering deliverables.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, Operations, Finance, and PMO to improve collaboration and delivery outcomes.
• Align strategies and roadmaps with TPM manager peers and business partners, ensuring effective prioritization and trade-offs.
• Own execution leadership: identify dependencies, resolve ambiguity, anticipate and mitigate risks, remove roadblocks, and ensure delivery of business goals.
• Serve as communication lead for one of the bi-annual product releases for Guest & Host Technology, coordinating program updates with PMO, Design, and QA release leaders.
• Provide hands-on program support for large, complex, strategic initiatives as needed.

Requirements

• 13+ years in technical program management, including 5+ years leading a team of TPMs.
• Proven ability to lead teams and build an inclusive, sustainable culture.
• 5+ years leading TPM teams collaborating with Product and Design on customer-facing features (ideally leveraging AI).
• Experience using AI to automate manual processes.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience running program-level releases (bi-annual) and communicating risks/ambiguities across engineering and partner functions.
