Senior Manager, Software Engineering

Role Overview

Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead and evolve mission-critical healthcare technology solutions. The role combines strategic technical leadership with people management, overseeing software engineering teams delivering secure, scalable, and compliant web applications and complex system integrations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical vision, architecture, and execution of full-stack software solutions (front-end, back-end services, data systems, and third-party integrations)
• Manage, mentor, and develop software engineering teams; foster collaboration and high performance
• Partner with product and UX teams to define product strategy, prioritize initiatives, and deliver impactful features
• Collaborate with technical project managers, QA/quality engineers, regulatory specialists, and business stakeholders to ensure delivery
• Drive engineering excellence: quality, security, scalability, reliability, and maintainability best practices
• Oversee deployment planning, release management, production rollouts, and minimize operational risk
• Lead production support: incident management, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement
• Continuously improve development processes, methodologies, tools, and team workflows
• Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare technology regulatory requirements and quality standards
• Contribute to long-term engineering objectives, resource planning, and technical strategy

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering/IT (or equivalent practical experience)
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 4+ years leading/managing software engineering teams
• Proven experience delivering and supporting production-critical software in complex environments
• Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
• Analytical problem-solving skills focused on scalable solutions
• Hands-on experience building Angular-based web applications and Java-based web services
• Experience with cloud technologies and modern frameworks (AWS, Spring, Hibernate, MySQL preferred)
• Familiarity with deployment processes, operational support, and incident management

Nice to Have

• Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, medical devices, life sciences, or similar)
• Knowledge of HL7 integrations, healthcare interoperability standards, or order and result workflows

Compensation

• Base salary: $166,000 to $216,000 annually
