About the role

Role Overview

Flock is hiring a Senior Manager of Product Design to elevate usability, consistency, and overall design quality across its web and mobile product suite. You’ll strengthen alignment between Product, Engineering, and Design, bring clarity to complexity, and establish practices that help a high-performing design team move fast and thoughtfully.

Responsibilities

Set and evolve design vision grounded in customer insights and data.
Level up design quality across the product experiences where design can have the greatest impact.
Mentor and lead a design team of 9 as a hands-on player-coach, deeply understanding users, workflows, and product details.
Improve alignment with Product and Engineering to solve meaningful customer problems.
Right-size design systems, processes, and rituals for hyper-growth while balancing speed and quality.
Develop/maintain understanding of the underlying models and primitives that enable great UX.
Improve usability and consistency across web and mobile experiences.
Champion user-centered design across prototyping, journey mapping, system design, and interface design.

Requirements

8+ years of product design experience, including deep expertise across multiple platforms, especially web applications.
Proven experience leading/managing product designers in a player-coach capacity (ideally in high-growth environments).
Strong UX foundation across core disciplines:
- core primitives
- information architecture
- interaction design
- UI design
Ability to evaluate and elevate design quality.
Strong design craft/product intuition; translate complex needs into simple solutions.
Exceptional cross-functional communication to influence and align stakeholders.
Comfortable operating with ambiguity and driving clarity in fast-paced environments.
Experience building time-to-value for customers.
Experience designing B2B SaaS products used in varied user contexts.

Nice-to-Haves (implied)

Comfort designing with users with varied workflows and technical comfort levels.
Strong familiarity with design systems and scaling design operations for rapid growth.
