Role Overview

Paylocity is growing its Machine Learning Engineering organization and is hiring a Senior Manager, Machine Learning Engineering (MLE) within Product & Technology. This leader will shape AI/ML initiative direction, drive delivery of business outcomes, and invest in team growth through coaching, mentorship, and career planning.

The role is fully remote within the United States, with a requirement to be available five days per week during designated work hours.

What You’ll Do

• Lead one or more MLE and/or engineering teams to develop and enhance machine learning infrastructure and solutions.
• Build and evolve AI platforms that scale to impact millions of users.
• Deliver platform-wide recommendations that support HR best practices and improve employee outcomes.
• Ensure AI ethics are embedded into processes as a first-class priority.
• Operate in a collaborative, fully remote environment focused on continuous improvement and sharing ideas.
• Stay current with emerging ML engineering tools, technologies, and practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently lead technical and delivery efforts for ML/AI infrastructure and solutions.
• Drive business-aligned outcomes for AI/ML initiatives.
• Build a collaborative, high-performing culture across teams.

Requirements

• Strong technical expertise in machine learning engineering.
• Strong people management and project/program management experience.

• Experience working on large-scale ML/AI systems impacting high volumes of users.
