Role Overview

Senior Manager, Final Mile Delivery (Operations)

The company is seeking a Senior Manager to lead end-to-end on-demand delivery operations, including company drivers and aggregator partners (e.g., DoorDash, Roadie, Uber Freight). This role designs what “fast delivery” looks like for trade professionals, integrating same-day fulfillment, local pickup (BOPIS/will call), and zone-skipping with UPS.

Key Responsibilities

Carrier Strategy & Network Optimization

Own zone-skipping strategy in partnership with UPS and other parcel carriers to reduce transit times and ship-from-zone costs.

Same-Day / Last-Mile Operations

Design and scale same-day and next-day local delivery offerings from fulfillment centers.
Manage time windows, cutoff management, and driver/route orchestration.
Operate and improve local pickup (BOPIS/will call) throughput and customer experience.

Hub & Spoke Infrastructure

Build and manage hub-and-spoke local delivery framework, including facilities, staffing, routing software, and inter-fulfillment-center (inter-FC) transfer coordination.
Create the operational playbook for scaling last-mile delivery as new fulfillment centers are added.

Data & Performance Management

Define and track delivery KPIs (on-time %, cost per delivery, aggregator utilization, customer satisfaction).
Improve performance through continuous optimization.

Compliance, Safety, and Licensing

Establish and maintain compliance, safety, and licensing standards for any company-operated fleet assets.

Cross-Functional Strategy & Scalability

Partner with Technology, Supply Chain, and Merchandising to ensure inventory positioning supports same-day commitments and aggregator eligibility.

People & Vendor Management

Manage carrier and aggregator relationships; negotiate contracts.
Hold vendors accountable to SLA performance and stay current on partner platform capabilities and pricing.
