Senior Manager / Director, Carrier Operations

Role overview

As Senior Manager/Director of Carrier Operations at Whatnot, you will oversee the company’s global carrier function. You’ll own shipping health monitoring, carrier performance, disruption response, cost integrity, carrier relationships, claims recovery, and team management.

Responsibilities

• Carrier performance monitoring: Build and run daily/weekly monitoring of shipping health.
• Carrier relationships & negotiations: Own weekly/biweekly operating cadence with carriers and integrators; manage relationships and negotiations.
• Disruption response: Monitor and respond to carrier API changes, tariffs, and regulatory shifts.
• Operational ownership: Maintain cost integrity and manage claims recovery.
• People management: Lead and manage the carrier operations team.

Requirements

• 8–12+ years of experience in parcel/carrier operations, logistics, transportation procurement, or marketplace operations.
• Strong capability to manage carrier performance and operational cadence.
• Experience handling operational disruptions tied to carrier/API, pricing, tariffs, and regulation.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience managing marketplace carrier operations at global scale (implied by “global carrier function”).
