About the role

Role overview

Senior Machine Learning Engineer focused on Personalization & Representation Learning in a rapidly scaling AI startup. You’ll work on production ML systems leveraging large behavioral datasets, with an emphasis on representation learning, recommendation/ranking, and privacy-preserving ML infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Design and deploy production ML systems for personalization, recommendations, ranking, and predictive modeling
Build representation learning systems to convert large-scale behavioral data into compact, high-signal embeddings
Develop and optimize recommendation engines, CTR prediction models, sequence models, and ad optimization systems
Create scalable ML pipelines and infrastructure for experimentation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement
Work with large-scale, consented datasets (e.g., purchasing, browsing, app usage, location signals)
Contribute to privacy-focused machine learning and secure data processing workflows
Partner with engineering, product, infrastructure, and research teams to bring models into production
Help shape ML architecture, tooling, and best practices in a fast-moving startup environment

Requirements

Proven experience shipping machine learning systems into production
Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with modern ML frameworks
Experience with personalization, recommendation systems, ranking models, embeddings, or representation learning
Familiarity with large-scale behavioral datasets and production ML infrastructure
Strong understanding of experimentation, model evaluation, feature engineering, and scalable deployment
Experience with orchestration/infrastructure tooling such as Airflow, Spark, CI/CD, or similar
Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and product teams
Ability to operate with high ownership and ambiguity in a startup environment

Nice to have

Broad experience across recommendation/ranking plus privacy-preserving ML infrastructure (implied by focus areas)
