About the role

Role Overview

Join Palo Alto Networks as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer on the Internet Security Research Team. You will help transform security research ideas into products for the next-generation security platform.

Key Missions / Responsibilities

Perform in-depth data analysis of security data and the threat domain.
Design, train, and evaluate machine learning algorithms to improve threat detection.
Build and productionize machine learning models.
Develop distributed systems to analyze and categorize large volumes of URLs.
Establish automated training pipelines.
Collaborate with data scientists, security researchers, and Product Managers to gather requirements, design systems, and implement solutions.
Challenge existing approaches to improve efficiency.

Profile / Requirements

Working knowledge of NLP techniques or document classification.
Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Java, or Golang.
Experience with cloud platforms: GCP and/or AWS.
Container-based development experience: Docker and Kubernetes.
MS or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field (graduation expected Dec 2025 to Jul 2026).
Familiarity with advanced ML architectures such as Transformers and Convolutional networks.
Experience applying supervised and/or unsupervised ML on various data types.
Ability to design, implement, and deploy system components, including regression and integration testing.
