Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Role Overview

Join Cresta as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer (full remote). You will build next-generation agentic AI systems, improve the reliability and performance of LLM-powered agents, and architect LLM + RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) pipelines grounded in enterprise data.

Key Missions / Responsibilities

• Lead design & development of Cresta’s next-generation AI Agents and Agentic Assist systems, including defining system architecture and core modeling approaches.
• Architect and scale LLM + RAG pipelines to ground models in enterprise data, building high-performance ML systems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, frontend, and backend teams to integrate AI capabilities into Cresta’s platform.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to the technical strategy and roadmap for Cresta’s AI systems.

Requirements

• Experience building and evaluating complex agentic or multi-step LLM workflows.
• Ability to optimize real-time ML systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Strong knowledge of modern ML frameworks and tools: PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face.
• Strong understanding of distributed/cloud-based infrastructure.
• Demonstrated technical leadership: influence cross-functional decisions and raise the engineering bar.
• 5–8+ years of production ML experience, including significant LLM work.
• BS in Computer Science/Math or related; MS or Ph.D. preferred.
• Proven experience designing and deploying Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in NLP, Generative AI, transformer architectures, embeddings, and retrieval systems.
