Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Role Overview

Join Anduril’s Counter Intrusion team as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer. You will own the end-to-end ML stack, from designing and training multi-sensor computer vision models to maintaining the ML pipelines that support deployment on autonomous/edge systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, train, and implement multi-sensor object detection models for edge computing devices.
• Develop and maintain core machine learning pipelines, including data collection and training infrastructure.
• Create and improve learning algorithms for autonomous systems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate ML solutions into existing systems.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior ML engineers.
• Optimize on-device inference and vision kernels across CPU/GPU/NPU, with attention to latency, memory, and power efficiency.
• Support deployment and operational readiness, including remote troubleshooting of deployed systems.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Machine Learning, Robotics, or Computer Science (emphasis on Computer Vision).
• 6+ years experience developing, benchmarking, and optimizing ML algorithms on large-scale datasets.
• Strong Deep Learning and Computer Vision expertise.
• Proven track record of developing and deploying CV models from R&D to production.
• C++ development experience in a Linux environment.
• Experience writing/maintaining automated CI tests.
• Ability to conduct rigorous experimentation, including ablation studies and detailed reporting.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Nice-to-Haves / Preferred

• TensorRT and ONNX model deployment experience.
• Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
• Experience with one or more:
  • Object Detection, Object Tracking, Instance Segmentation, Semantic Segmentation
  • Semantic Change Detection, Depth Estimation
  • Model Pruning/Compression
• Experience with robotics/geometry topics such as:
  • Visual Odometry, SLAM, Multi-view Geometry, Camera Models
  • RGB-D / LIDAR sensor fusion, Optical Flow
• 1+ year technical leadership experience.
