Senior Linux System Administrator / SRE

Role Overview

Senior Linux System Administrator / SRE (Remote, PST preferred) joining the core infrastructure team. You will build, automate, and operate Linux system services across a large-scale hybrid environment (AWS and on-premises), with a focus on OS reliability, security, patching, and lifecycle automation under federal security standards (FedRAMP).

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and optimize automation workflows for the full Linux host lifecycle (OS configuration, patching, AMIs, and base container image generation).
• Diagnose and resolve complex production incidents across OS, kernel, performance, and service layers using Python, Go, C, or Ruby.
• Own and administer core system services and critical infrastructure components across hybrid cloud and on-premises.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on security hardening and alignment with FedRAMP compliance requirements.
• Lead ambiguous technical initiatives from design through production deployment; participate in an on-call rotation (~16 days/year).

Requirements (Must-Have)

• 7+ to 10+ years of Linux System Administration & Engineering.
• Systems/infrastructure automation using Python and/or Ruby and Ansible.
• Cloud infrastructure operations in AWS and hybrid environments.
• Must be a US Citizen or GC holder to meet FedRAMP compliance requirements.

Nice to Have

• Containerization & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Image building and management (AMIs, base container images).
• Systems programming (Go, C).
• Regulatory compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST).
