Senior Legal Counsel – United Kingdom (Remote)

Role Overview

The Senior Legal Counsel will serve as the first Head of Legal Ops for a growing network of media and advertising agencies, owning operational legal needs across a multi-entity environment. The role combines high-volume legal operations with building legal strategy and scalable legal infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• AI Legal Governance: Build a legal framework governing how the agency network and its companies develop, deploy, and sell AI-enabled work.
• Privacy & PII Compliance: Lead ongoing data privacy initiatives.
• Contracting Strategy & Operations: Develop and maintain a unified contracting approach, including MSAs, DPA framework, SOW, and licensing templates.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead a team of legal and business affairs associates.
• Legal Integration Support: As the network grows via acquisitions, support legal integration of new companies into the network.
• Legal Advisory: Provide strategic legal guidance tailored to a fast-changing creative/media environment.

Requirements

• JD required.
• Active bar membership in NY or CA.
• 10+ years of legal experience with exposure to IP, commercial contracts, and technology or creative work.
• Demonstrated experience with AI-related legal matters.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, and the international data privacy landscape.
• Experience building/scaling legal infrastructure in multi-entity or network environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a creative/media or advertising network setting, particularly where legal needs are evolving rapidly.
