Senior Lead Software Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Lead Software Engineer at FinditParts reporting directly to the CTO. You’ll be the core technical leader responsible for building, mentoring, and growing an engineering team while defining development standards and delivering secure, scalable systems at a key growth stage.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Engineering Culture
  • Lead and grow a team of 5–10 engineers; foster accountability, collaboration, and performance
  • Mentor engineers/managers and provide hands-on technical guidance
  • Establish engineering best practices and optimize team performance and engagement
• Technical Strategy & Product Delivery
  • Oversee and contribute to roadmap execution and end-to-end delivery
  • Drive best practices for code quality, testing, deployment, operations, and AI utilization
  • Define and track engineering KPIs (productivity, quality, delivery efficiency)
• Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Collaborate with Product and Design to translate ambiguous requirements into executable engineering solutions

Requirements

• 10+ years progressive software engineering experience
• 2+ years leading and mentoring experience
• Proven delivery of high-quality, complex systems in small teams
• Deep expertise across the full stack and modern software architectures/tooling
• Strong experience building lightweight, fast-rendering, SEO-friendly web pages
• Comfortable with Linux-based systems (including scripting and file system work)
• Strong technical ownership mindset; decisive, data-driven leadership

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience in eCommerce, logistics, or marketplace environments

Required Tech Stack

• Ruby on Rails (backend)
• AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM)
• MySQL or PostgreSQL with query/performance optimization
• JavaScript and Tailwind CSS (frontend)

Compensation & Benefits

• $150,000–$200,000 + Bonus + Equity + Flexible Unlimited PTO
