Senior Java Developer (Trading Platform)

Role Overview

Senior Java Developer for Crypto.com’s Trading Platform. You’ll design and build core backend systems for high-performance trading, with an emphasis on ultra-low latency and deterministic, traceable behavior.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop core backend components: market connectivity, order routing, execution engine, risk, and position tracking
• Implement ultra-low-latency and GC-free/low-GC components using lock-free and off-heap programming techniques
• Use event-driven and fully deterministic design principles to make system behavior predictable and traceable
• Partner with product and trading teams to turn requirements into production-ready, performant solutions
• Profile performance, tune the JVM, and debug complex production issues
• Build and maintain automated test suites and CI/CD pipelines
• Perform code reviews, contribute to architecture discussions, and conduct technical audits to maintain engineering standards
• Use AI-driven coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development and improve productivity

Requirements

• 8+ years of Java backend development, preferably in trading or real-time systems
• Strong understanding of Java internals, multithreading, memory models, and GC
• Proven GC-free or low-GC experience, including sun.misc.Unsafe, direct buffers, and memory-mapped files
• Familiarity with low-latency messaging libraries such as Aeron and SBE
• Strong event-driven architecture experience and the ability to design fully deterministic systems
• Knowledge of time-series/analytical databases (e.g., ClickHouse); exposure to kdb+ or InfluxDB is a plus
• Experience with distributed systems, message queues, and performance tuning at network and application layers
• Testing discipline including TDD, benchmarking, and resilience testing
• Strong English communication; Chinese or other languages are a plus
