Role Overview

Senior Java Developer (Remote)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Framework).
• Build RESTful APIs and backend services using a microservices architecture.
• Apply OOP, SOLID, and design patterns to create modular and maintainable systems.
• Implement microservices communication and messaging using Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Develop database-driven applications using SQL and NoSQL (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB), including optimized queries and stored procedures.
• Implement data access layers with Hibernate, JPA, and Spring Data.
• Implement security with Spring Security, OAuth2, JWT, and RBAC.
• Write and execute unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.
• Set up builds and dependency management with Maven and Gradle.
• Automate build/test/deploy workflows using CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Deploy and manage services using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Integrate with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Use Git (GitHub/Bitbucket/GitLab) for version control and collaboration.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance (logging, debugging, performance tuning).
• Work in Agile/Scrum practices (sprint planning, code reviews, backlog refinement).
• Mentor junior developers, lead code reviews, and contribute to architecture and engineering standards.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience in Java enterprise application development.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, database development (SQL/NoSQL), and secure backend development.
• Familiarity with testing (JUnit/Mockito), build tools (Maven/Gradle), and CI/CD.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes) and cloud deployment (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Nice-to-Haves

• Hands-on experience with messaging (Kafka/RabbitMQ) and enterprise security patterns (OAuth2/JWT/RBAC).
• Experience in mentoring and software architecture contribution within Agile teams.
