Role Overview

Senior Java Developer (Remote)

Seeking a highly experienced Java Developer (10+ years) to design, develop, and implement scalable enterprise applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build high-performance, secure, and maintainable services using modern Agile and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Framework)
• Build RESTful APIs and backend services using microservices architecture
• Apply OOP, SOLID principles, and design patterns for modular and reusable code
• Develop microservices with service communication using Apache Kafka and/or RabbitMQ
• Implement database-driven applications with SQL/NoSQL (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB), including optimized queries/stored procedures
• Build data access layers with Hibernate, JPA, and Spring Data
• Implement security using Spring Security, OAuth2, JWT, and RBAC
• Write and execute unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito
• Use Maven and Gradle for builds and dependency management
• Integrate with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
• Deploy and manage services with Docker and Kubernetes for cloud-native scalability
• Leverage cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP) for deployment, monitoring, and scalability
• Use Git for version control and collaboration
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize performance (logging, debugging, tuning)
• Work in Agile/Scrum: sprint planning, code reviews, backlog refinement
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to architecture and engineering standards

Requirements

• 10+ years professional experience building enterprise applications
• Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot/Spring Framework
• Microservices and RESTful API development
• Experience with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) and data access (Hibernate/JPA/Spring Data)
• Application security using Spring Security, OAuth2, JWT, and RBAC
• Testing with JUnit and Mockito
• CI/CD and deployment with Jenkins/GitHub Actions/GitLab CI/Azure DevOps
• Containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes
• Cloud experience with AWS/Azure/GCP

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Selenium and broader testing frameworks
• Experience with additional version-control platforms (GitHub/Bitbucket/GitLab)
