Senior Java Developer

Role Overview

Senior Full Stack Engineer / Technical Lead supporting customer-facing software. The role involves building and maintaining web applications, integrating on-premises systems with AWS cloud infrastructure, and leading modern software delivery practices across agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain customer-facing applications across the full web stack
• Build and support integrations between on-premises systems and AWS services
• Develop with Java, Node.js, and TypeScript
• Lead technical discussions and influence architecture/design decisions across multiple teams
• Mentor and guide engineers to promote engineering excellence and growth
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions
• Plan, document, and communicate technical initiatives and project progress
• Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Octopus Deploy
• Partner with DevOps teams to automate build, test, and deployment processes
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve CI/CD performance, reliability, and scalability
• Support and enhance existing systems to meet evolving business needs
• Promote best practices in software development, architecture, and Agile methodologies
• Use AI-assisted development tools (LLM-based coding assistants) to improve productivity and code quality

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/IT (or equivalent experience)
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and TypeScript (Node.js)
• Deep AWS expertise, including S3, Lambda, RDS, Secrets Manager, and CloudFront
• Proven ability to integrate on-premises systems with cloud infrastructure
• Solid full-stack understanding (database through presentation layer)
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, REST APIs, and relational databases (SQL)
• Experience with ORM frameworks such as Hibernate
• Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
• Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent analytical/problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication skills (explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineers

Nice to Haves

• Experience with AI-powered development tools (e.g., Cursor)
• Experience leading multiple projects or acting as a functional technical lead
• Familiarity with modern delivery practices (Agile/Kanban, Git branching strategies)
• Experience in customer-facing software environments
