About the role
Role: Senior iOS Engineer
Join Oura’s iOS engineering team to design, build, and maintain high-quality iOS features for the product roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-quality iOS code for projects on the team roadmap
- Ship work effectively by aligning closely with PMs and Designers
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as backend, firmware, data science, research/science, and QA to deliver complex mobile features
- Improve the iOS codebase by working with iOS colleagues across the US and EU
- Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and platform-level improvements
- Contribute to squads that own work end-to-end: concept → design → implementation → release → maintenance & bug fixes
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience shipping iOS apps
- Proficiency in Swift, UIKit, and modern iOS architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM, MVC, TCA, VIPER)
- Strong experience working with shared codebases and using Git (branching + code review workflows)
- Quality mindset: unit tests and manual testing
- Strong computer science fundamentals and knowledge of design patterns
- Ability to own projects, design technical solutions, and deliver results with limited guidance
- Experience mentoring engineers and improving developer productivity
- Experience with Agile or Scrum
Nice to Have
- 7+ years shipping consumer iOS apps, enterprise iOS apps, or iOS SDKs
- Prior tech lead/team lead experience
- Experience with one or more of: Swift structured concurrency, Combine, SQLite/GRDB, SwiftUI, CoreAnimation, CoreGraphics, PyTorch, TypeScript, Kotlin Multiplatform, BLE, SDK development
- Familiarity with functional programming, systems architecture/performance optimization
- Experience working asynchronously across countries/time zones
- Experience collaborating with firmware teams and hardware-related projects
- Experience with app release management and CI/CD
- Domain experience in health/wellness/fitness/women’s health/wearables
- Bonus: ML algorithms, encryption, data privacy, or familiarity with C++
Location & Work Model
- Remote (US) position with a preference for US-Pacific timezone
- Offices in San Francisco and San Diego for candidates who prefer hybrid/office
- Occasional informal gatherings in major cities (e.g., Boston, New York)
