About the role

Role Overview

Office Hours is hiring its first dedicated iOS Engineer to build the mobile experience that puts the platform in the hands of experts everywhere. This is a ground-floor opportunity where you will shape the app from architecture and product craft to how it feels and scales.

Responsibilities

Own and shape the iOS app end to end: architecture, state management, navigation, offline support, and App Store delivery
Design and build high-craft iOS user experiences using Swift and SwiftUI in close partnership with design and product
Make and evolve foundational technical decisions early to support future scale (including re-architecting when needed)
Use AI coding tools to prototype, iterate, and ship faster while maintaining quality
Partner with product and design leadership to take early app versions to production and beyond
Help establish mobile standards, tooling, and practices as the team grows

Requirements

Deep, hands-on experience building and shipping consumer iOS apps with Swift and SwiftUI
Strong product sensibility and passion for polished, delightful UX (interaction, motion, and detail)
Ability to own early architecture decisions with good judgment on when to evolve vs. rebuild
Comfort using AI coding tools to increase velocity without compromising craft
Track record of shipping App Store apps that users genuinely love
Self-starter who can thrive in ambiguity and a fast-paced environment

Nice-to-Haves / Bonus Points

Experience as an early/founding engineer on a consumer app that scaled
Integration experience with AI/LLM-powered features, including streaming responses into the UI
Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex)
Strong eye for design systems and accessibility; fluency with Figma

Mobile: Swift, SwiftUI, Swift Concurrency
Tooling: Xcode, App Store Connect (including shaping CI/CD and release tooling)
Workflow: GitHub, Slack, Notion, Figma, Linear
Back end (not required): Node.js, TypeScript, MongoDB, OpenSearch, Temporal
