Role overview

Senior iOS Engineer (3D / Metal) on Zillow’s Immersion/ RMX team. You’ll help build and integrate 3D immersive experiences into the Zillow iOS app, partnering closely with computer vision and machine learning teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and build iOS features powering Zillow’s 3D and immersive home-tour experiences.
• Own and solve key architectural challenges for integrating advanced 3D/immersive capabilities into iOS.
• Deliver delightful, high-quality user experiences for virtual home touring (fast, natural, engaging).
• Drive features end-to-end with cross-functional partners across product, research, engineering, and business.
• Contribute to both capture and viewing experiences, from experimental prototypes to production-ready functionality.
• Partner with CV/ML experts to push capabilities of mobile devices for capture and viewing.
• Champion iOS best practices for performance, scalability, testing, and code quality, especially for graphics- and media-heavy workloads.
• Explore and influence new technologies and approaches to shape the future of immersive home shopping.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software application/systems development experience, including mobile consumer apps.
• Strong understanding of the mobile ecosystem and customer-focused mindset.
• Experience with immersive/graphics-heavy technologies such as ARKit and Metal, immersive media/imaging/graphics, AVFoundation, and/or AR/VR APIs.
• Experience with performance profiling and optimization on mobile devices.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: design, coding, testing, and debugging.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills using data/metrics.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Salary & location notes

• Role is categorized as Remote within the United States.
• Base pay (varies by listed states):
  • $160,900–$257,100 annually (CA, CT, MD, MA, NJ, NY, WA, WA DC)
  • $152,900–$244,300 annually (CO, HI, IL, MN, NV, OH, RI, VT)
• Equity awards may be provided in addition to base salary.
