Senior iOS Developer

Role overview

Join Joist (EverCommerce) as a Senior iOS Developer. You’ll help build and evolve an end-to-end vertical software platform for small and medium-sized trades contractors, owning features from inception through deployment.

Key missions

• Design and develop software solutions for the Joist product, from inception to deployment.
• Maintain high code quality by writing effective, evolvable, and highly readable code; communicate code quality standards to the team.
• Mentor teammates and grow engineering skills by sharing your expertise and passion for technology and industry change.

Responsibilities

• Contribute across the full development lifecycle.
• Ensure engineering quality through clear communication of standards and best practices.
• Apply strong mobile architecture, data structures/algorithms knowledge, and performance-oriented engineering.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in agile development teams.
• Deep experience with mobile software development and strong mobile application architecture fundamentals.
• Familiarity with SwiftUI and Storyboards (including programmatic view design).
• Experience building mobile apps using CI/CD tooling (e.g., CircleCI, Fastlane).
• Proven ability to mentor and improve teammates’ engineering skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly about technical topics.
• Experience with mobile test automation frameworks.
• Strong understanding of iOS fundamentals and SDK work.

Nice-to-haves

• Functional Reactive Programming with RxSwift or Combine (or similar).
• Experience with Core Data and SQLite.
• Deep familiarity with Swift, Objective-C, and the iOS SDK.
• Understanding of mobile architectural patterns such as MVVM and MVC.
• Ability to profile performance, diagnose issues, and troubleshoot bugs.
• Experience building production Android apps with Kotlin.
• Degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or similar).
