About the role

Role Overview

Senior Interior Designer / Design Lead for luxury residential and hospitality interiors in a remote-first, design-focused studio.

You’ll lead high-profile projects end-to-end—from concept through construction administration and installation—while working closely with firm leadership in a collaborative environment with creative autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead luxury residential and hospitality interior projects across all phases (concept → construction administration → installation)
  • Develop and present interior concepts using:
    • mood boards, material palettes
    • presentations and renderings
    • design documentation
  • Produce and oversee detailed drawing packages, including:
    • floor plans, furniture layouts, elevations
    • millwork detailing
  • Collaborate with architects, landscape architects, consultants, contractors, and vendors to maintain an integrated design vision
  • Guide projects through schematic design, design development, documentation, procurement, and installation while preserving design integrity
  • Lead FF&E sourcing and specification (furniture, lighting, textiles, finishes, and custom elements)
  • Conduct material reviews and present the design narrative and spatial intent
  • Coordinate with procurement and vendors for purchasing, fabrication, lead times, and installation logistics
  • Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals for alignment with design intent
  • Participate in site visits, walkthroughs, and field coordination
  • Manage timelines, deliverables, and internal coordination across multiple active projects
  • Mentor and support junior designers with technical guidance and collaborative design development

Requirements

  • Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related field
  • 10+ years of professional experience focused on high-end luxury residential interiors (hospitality experience preferred)
  • Proven ability to independently lead projects through all phases
  • Strong design sensibility (proportion, materiality, layering, spatial composition)
  • Advanced luxury residential detailing experience (custom millwork, FF&E, finishes, construction methodologies)
  • Experience producing/coordinating comprehensive construction documentation packages
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD

Preferred Skills / Tools

  • Strong working knowledge of SketchUp
  • Adobe Creative Suite and visualization tools
