Role Overview

Senior Go Software Engineer (Remote, US)

Milestone’s Arcules team builds a scalable, cloud-first, device-agnostic platform for intelligent security. You’ll help design and build enterprise-scale distributed systems and contribute to a responsible AI approach.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product managers and technology teams to understand roadmap priorities and shape customer-focused product features.
• Design and implement microservice-based systems using sound engineering principles.
• Apply software design patterns and advanced knowledge of data structures and data modeling.
• Communicate architecture/design trade-offs and ensure solutions are testable, maintainable, and scalable.
• Provide overall project design and estimates during scoping.
• Mentor other engineers and help drive effective engineering practices (including formal testing).
• Promote engineering habits such as clean code, security, balancing tech debt, TDD, and “going end-to-end early.”
• Own, diagnose, and resolve complex distributed-system defects and technical issues.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership on the technical roadmap and innovation.
• Work with SRE to identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency and reliability in the delivery cycle.

Requirements

• Proficient in building and maintaining software with Go (or other compiled languages).
• Experience designing scalable, maintainable systems.
• Experience with microservice architecture and common software design patterns.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, data modeling, and system design for cloud applications.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues in distributed computing environments.
• Mentoring experience and a strong focus on engineering practices such as formal testing and clean code.

Nice to Have

• Strong collaboration with SRE and experience implementing delivery-cycle automation.

Compensation & Benefits

• Estimated annual salary: $175,000 – $195,000 (based on level, location, complexity, and responsibilities).
