About the role

Role Overview

Senior Go Software Engineer on a JH Platform Delivery Team, centered on Jack Henry’s Technology Modernization Strategy. You will work with an engineering team building backend services for banking applications and shared platform services, collaborating daily with software, DevOps, product owners, and business analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Build, test, deploy, maintain, and scale backend services in a microservices architecture using Go.
  • Work with engineering teams to identify needs, prioritize, plan work, and deliver solutions aligned to product development.
  • Develop deep domain knowledge in banking-related domains owned by your team and understand how domain changes affect products.
  • Partner with customer support to diagnose and resolve defects and production issues.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of programming experience.
  • 2+ years of backend development using Go (Golang).
  • Ability to complete a coding challenge.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (desired, not required).
  • Microservices architecture experience.
  • Experience with cloud-hosted applications (e.g., Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience with AI/ML and/or training Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Experience with one or more of: Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, observability/monitoring, Cloud Spanner, event-based/distributed systems, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently.
  • Strong ownership from scope definition with product managers through production support.
