Role Overview

Senior Go Developer (100% Remote, United States)

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an experienced Go engineer to design and build high-performance backend services, infrastructure tooling, and cloud-native applications. The work emphasizes latency, concurrency, and operational efficiency, and you’ll contribute to a shared codebase across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop backend services and infrastructure tooling in Go
  • Build and maintain gRPC and/or REST APIs in production environments
  • Develop Kubernetes-native components and tooling using Kubernetes APIs and controllers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners (product, design, engineering, operations, business) to translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions
  • Raise engineering quality through code reviews, design reviews, and mentorship of junior engineers
  • Improve performance and reliability through debugging and engineering best practices

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant time in Go
  • Strong command of Go concurrency patterns (goroutines, channels, contexts)
  • Hands-on experience building production gRPC and/or REST APIs in Go
  • Experience with Kubernetes-native development (e.g., client-go, controller-runtime)
  • Solid experience with relational and key-value data stores
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and networking fundamentals
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and container-based deployment
  • Strong debugging, performance-engineering, and communication/documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Open-source contributions to Go-based projects
  • Experience writing Kubernetes operators or controllers
  • Familiarity with eBPF, service mesh, or low-level systems programming
  • Exposure to security-sensitive Go projects (cryptography, auth)
  • Familiarity with WASM, TinyGo, or embedded systems
