Role overview

Senior GCP DevOps Engineer to streamline software delivery pipelines and improve reliability, performance, and scalability. You’ll operate in a start-up style environment where engineers take ownership and directly impact how the marketplace scales.

Responsibilities

Streamline and improve software delivery pipelines
Enhance reliability, performance, and scalability of systems
Drive continuous improvement across the software lifecycle
Build and manage containerized workloads and Kubernetes clusters
Deploy and manage infrastructure via CI/CD pipelines
Apply cost-aware scaling decisions (utilisation vs scaling costs)

Requirements

Strong problem-solving skills and senior-level technical capability
Proven experience on GCP as a DevOps Engineer or SRE
Deep experience with Terraform and Ansible
Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, container building, and CI/CD-based deployments
Commercial thinking around infrastructure cost vs utilisation
Ability to design, implement, and operate CI/CD pipelines
Solid networking knowledge (e.g., TCP/IP, IPsec, HTTPS, DNS)

Beneficial / nice-to-haves

Nginx, PHP, MySQL
NoSQL solutions such as RabbitMQ, SOLR, Couchbase
Experience with networking concepts and solutions

Work location

Remote-first: available for remote working worldwide
Office option near Bournemouth, Dorset (fully kitted modern office)
