Senior Fullstack TypeScript Developer (React / Next.js) - Contract Role (Remote)

Role overview

Senior Fullstack TypeScript Developer to join the Documentation as Code (DaC) platform team. You’ll build scalable backend services and APIs with TypeScript/Next.js, while also contributing to a modern React-based frontend.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs using TypeScript and Next.js
• Build and maintain fullstack features, contributing across backend and frontend layers
• Architect efficient data flows and ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in agile ceremonies (planning, refinement, workshops)
• Contribute to MVP delivery and ongoing product improvements
• Participate in code reviews and pairing sessions

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional development experience
• 4+ years with TypeScript building production-grade applications
• Strong backend experience with Next.js (API routes, server-side logic, architecture design)
• Solid experience with React for modern, responsive UI development
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, performance, and scalability best practices
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, distributed environment
• Advanced English (spoken and written)
• Must be available to overlap at least 6 hours with Central Time (CT) and be located in the United States

Nice to have

• Documentation as Code (DaC) workflows
• Familiarity with Remark and MDX ecosystem
• Infrastructure-as-Code experience (e.g., Terraform)
• Containerization experience (e.g., Docker)
