Senior Fullstack Software Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Fullstack Software Engineer at Onebrief (full remote). You will design, build, and operate the systems powering the platform, working across the full stack to improve performance, reliability, scalability, security, and user experience.

Key Missions

• Design, build, and maintain systems across the stack (frontend interfaces, APIs, backend services, databases, and infrastructure).
• Rotate across squads as priorities change, bringing expertise to where it creates the most leverage.
• Evolve and optimize core systems including:
  • Data models
  • Authentication flows
  • API layers
  • Client-side architecture

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate technical trade-offs clearly and apply strong engineering judgment to ambiguous problems.
• Contribute effectively in a fluid squad model with rapid context switching and quick ramp-up in new domains.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• Full-stack fluency (frontend, backend, and infrastructure as needed).
• Strong systems thinking, API design, and data modeling skills.
• Experience with containerization and cloud infrastructure, including Docker and Kubernetes, plus AWS/GCP/Azure.
• Knowledge of distributed systems.
• Experience with observability (logging, metrics, tracing) and incident response.
• Active use of AI coding tools as a practical part of development (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot).
• Familiarity with authentication/access control patterns.

Nice-to-Haves

• Mission-critical or high-compliance domain experience (e.g., SOC 2, FedRAMP, HIPAA, DoD).
• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, Pub/Sub, microservices).
• Background driving architecture/system design decisions for complex, high-scale systems.
• Authentication protocol familiarity (e.g., OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SAML).
