About the role

Role overview

You will build and lead the implementation of platforms and APIs that enable business features in the risk management domain. The work includes designing 24/7, high-scale services and contributing to decision platforms and machine learning solutions.

Key missions

Spearhead the implementation of platforms and APIs supporting risk management business features
Design and develop high-scale distributed systems and decision/ML platforms
Collaborate with product, design, and engineering peers to launch features across web and mobile
Mentor junior engineers and help elevate team engineering standards

Responsibilities

Build and maintain REST APIs and service-oriented architectures
Work with message queues and scalable backend architectures
Ensure high availability using observability and monitoring
Participate in CI/CD and automation practices

Requirements

Strong proficiency with Java and related frameworks/tools at Flex:
- Spring (Core/Web/Boot)
- Gradle, JUnit, JVM performance/memory/GC tuning
5+ years hands-on Java development (also overall 6+ years professional software development)
2+ years experience with TypeScript
UI experience: build high-quality mobile and web UIs to specifications (must-have)
2+ years experience with React or React Native
React/React Native architecture knowledge: Hooks, Components, Context, Redux
Experience with AWS and containerization:
- EKS, Aurora RDS, Elasticache, DynamoDB
Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture, REST APIs, Message Queues, and scalable architectures
Experience with observability/monitoring tools such as DataDog
Proficiency in CI/CD (preferably GitHub Actions), Git, and automation
Big data tooling experience including Snowflake
Infrastructure as Code using CDK and Terraform

Nice-to-haves / domain-specific

Must-have: experience in a risk engineering team, especially:
- rules engine architecture and/or risk/credit/fraud systems

Soft skills

Excellent written and verbal communication and experience working cross-functionally
