Senior Fullstack Engineer, Search Data Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Fullstack Engineer (Search Data Engineering) responsible for technical direction and execution across fullstack applications and data systems for Yahoo Search.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own delivery of fullstack applications within a cross-functional product squad, aligning with business goals, security standards, and regulatory requirements
• Define and implement scalable, robust, and maintainable application architecture and system design
• Collaborate with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, and engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Work with Architects, AI/ML engineers, and Data scientists to design resilient data components using streaming and batch processing
• Lead migration of legacy data components to a modern, cloud-first architecture on GCP and AWS
• Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to ensure adherence to architectural principles, coding standards, and best practices
• Evaluate third-party tools/frameworks/APIs for security, performance, and scalability
• Drive continuous improvement across development processes, tooling, and automation
• Mentor and coach engineers to build a culture of learning, innovation, and engineering excellence
• Communicate technical decisions effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• 7+ years experience with large-scale distributed systems
• 7+ years hands-on, professional software development experience (details truncated in posting)
