Role overview

Senior Fullstack Engineer (Ruby + React) for a temporary contract project with a creator-economy platform client.

You’ll join a small, focused team embedded in an ongoing mid-development build. The project is shipping a native Community feature for highly engaged audiences, with a beta window and a planned release later this year.

Responsibilities

Build and ship full-stack features across:
- Rails service layer
- React frontend
Work from Linear tickets: scope your own tasks and deliver production-quality code with strong test coverage
Participate in client sprint rituals, demos, and touchpoints; communicate delivery status and technical decisions
Collaborate closely with existing engineers (primary pair during ramp-up) and the client’s engineers/PM
Help drive beta and release milestones by flagging risks early and proposing solutions
Contribute to architecture/integration discussions (e.g., real-time infrastructure via Stream, feed/messaging, performance/scaling)
Provide high-quality code reviews that raise the bar

Required / Qualifications

7+ years of full-stack engineering experience with substantial production work in Ruby on Rails and React
Comfort working in a large Rails monolith: navigate unfamiliar codebases and follow established conventions
Strong PostgreSQL skills (efficient queries, indexing, reasoning about migrations on live systems)
Familiarity with Redis for caching and/or background jobs
Production experience with React (component patterns, state management, integrating with a Rails backend)
Experience with real-time features, multi-tenancy, or scale; you have informed opinions on trade-offs (ActionCable/AnyCable, Stream.io, Pusher, etc. are a plus)
Clear communication with both technical and non-technical audiences

Contract / Location

Temporary contract; start as soon as possible
Time zone overlap: EST or compatible time zones (Eastern North America through Western/Central Europe), with strong overlap to an EST/CET working day
