Role Overview

You’ll be a Senior Fullstack Engineer II on the Khan Academy Kids team, serving as a core technical contributor building and maintaining the fullstack web infrastructure for the educational platform.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain fullstack web applications and services for dashboards and admin tools used by educators and families worldwide.
Lead complex technical projects from conception through launch, partnering with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, design, content).
Drive engineering excellence by:
- Writing clean, testable, well-documented code
- Conducting thorough code reviews
- Championing best practices for the team
Participate in technical planning and architecture decisions to shape the long-term technical direction of the platform.

Requirements

7+ years of fullstack web development experience.
Strong ability to work across frontend and backend systems using modern web frameworks.
Project leadership: drive initiatives from concept through launch.
Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders and manage complex technical projects.

Core Technical Skills

Extensive experience with modern web frameworks, including Vue.js or React, and TypeScript or JavaScript.
Backend experience building RESTful APIs and server-side applications.
Strong knowledge of web app architecture, including authentication and security best practices.
Experience with relational databases (SQL), including schema design, query optimization, and scalable data modeling.
