Senior Fullstack Engineer (£110k-£130k) at Midnite

Role Overview

Midnite is hiring a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join a greenfield team building the company’s internal back-office platform (“Nucleus”) from the ground up. You will act as a player-manager, leading a small team while staying hands-on with Python and Vue.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain backend systems and operational dashboards for Midnite’s internal platform using Python, Flask, and AWS.
• Lead and mentor 3 engineers as a player-manager (sprint planning, professional development, and technical direction).
• Prototype and ship AI-powered tooling, such as:
  • Automated code review tooling
  • Intelligent alerting
  • Internal assistants for non-technical teams
• Drive AI experimentation into production, using LLMs and RAG to enhance developer experience and business operations.

Requirements

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong Python proficiency and a high bar for software architecture and engineering standards.
• Proven experience leading/mentoring engineers while delivering complex production projects.
• Practical experience integrating LLMs and AI APIs into real products.

Nice to Have

• Curiosity and hands-on familiarity with emerging frameworks such as LangChain and LlamaIndex, and/or RAG pipelines.
