About the role

Role Overview

Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer working on Yahoo Search and related platforms. You’ll build scalable distributed systems that improve user experiences and drive measurable business growth, partnering closely with product and design teams.

Responsibilities

Define, design, develop, and deliver major new features for current and future products
Build across the full stack, creating highly scalable distributed solutions
Perform peer code reviews and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture
Partner with UX designers, product managers, and other engineers to ship features, enhancements, platform improvements, and bug fixes
Write testable, reliable code and continuously deploy to production
Monitor, analyze, and improve performance and responsiveness of web applications and infrastructure
Participate across the full development lifecycle: technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch
Contribute to engineering standards, improve developer workflows, and mentor junior engineers

Requirements

BS in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience
5+ years of professional software development experience
Strong modern front-end framework experience (React, Vue, Next) plus deep JavaScript/TypeScript expertise
Full-stack capability with proficiency in at least one backend language (e.g., Java, Go, Python, Ruby, C++, etc.)
Experience with cloud services and infrastructure, including serverless on major platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes)
Strong experience with API and web protocols: GraphQL, REST, HTTP
Solid fundamentals in object-oriented design and design patterns
