Senior Full Stack Software Engineer (Raise)

Role Overview

Join Virtuous’ Raise team as a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer. You’ll build, scale, and maintain web applications that power the Virtuous Raise product, owning features end-to-end from discovery through delivery. You’ll collaborate with Product and Design to translate donor and nonprofit customer needs into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship revenue-generating features across the full stack with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Own features end-to-end: campaign forms/pages, A/B testing, analysis/reporting, and data-driven donor upgrades.
• Work closely with Product and Design to deliver polished, donor-facing experiences.
• Use and maintain observability (metrics, logging, tracing, alerting) to debug and prevent production issues.
• Operate and improve systems reliability using SLOs/SLIs or similar reliability target practices.
• Ensure long-term code health by reviewing AI-generated code and steering toward correct architecture.

Requirements

• 6+ years building modern web applications, including meaningful experience running and scaling in production.
• Strong C# skills and experience with APIs (REST and/or GraphQL).
• Strong understanding of relational databases, including indexing, query optimization, and scaling strategies (e.g., read replicas, partitioning, connection pooling).
• Experience integrating and using modern AI development tools/agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) as part of a regular workflow, with a solid pre-AI engineering foundation.
• Ability to review AI-generated code for architectural correctness and prevent issues.
• Comfort owning polished UI work and building donor-facing experiences.
• Observability tooling comfort; Datadog preferred.
• Strong DevOps fundamentals: CI/CD, containerization, monitoring, and scaling under load.
• Cloud infrastructure experience; Azure preferred.
• Infrastructure-as-code experience (e.g., Terraform; “TerraGrunt” mentioned).
• JavaScript/TypeScript and frontend frameworks such as Vue, React, or Svelte.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes or modern PaaS deployment.
• Experience working in SaaS/B2B environments; nonprofit tech experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset.
