Senior Full Stack Software Engineer (GenSWE)

Role overview

You’ll join Plaid as a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer (GenSWE), designing and building systems that connect millions of people to their finances. The role is end-to-end: from scalable backend services and APIs to intuitive frontend applications, with ownership from the start.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
• Build high-quality frontend experiences that are user-friendly and intuitive
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements and deliver features
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code
• Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
• Work across product, operations, and data teams to deliver end-to-end solutions

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience shipping production systems/features
• Strong system design, coding, and testing skills across both frontend and backend
• Proven collaboration with product, design, and engineering partners
• Experience building backend services with relational databases (e.g., MySQL)
• Experience with microservices and/or service-oriented architectures
• Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frontend frameworks/libraries

• Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers through reviews, guidance, or leadership
